Vinitech and Sifel: drawing a synergy


Vinitech
, the International Exhibition of Equipment and Services for Vines, Wines and Spirits, and Sifel, the International Exhibition of the Fruit & Vegetables Industry, will take place simultaneously in Bordeaux from 30 November to 2 December 2010. Bringing these two major events together reinforces the synergy between the two agricultural sectors and will attract some 1,500 international suppliers to Bordeaux-Lac Exhibition Centre to showcase their products and services.
Vinitech and Sifel join toward synergyThe aim of combining these two events is to pool resources and draw on the synergy between related areas of expertise. With an enhanced offer and the ability to reach a wider trade public, Vinitech Sifel will carry more weight 50,000 visitors (7,500 of them international) are expected at Bordeaux-Lac Exhibition Centre from 30 November to 2 December 2010. This major event will comprise 3 main exhibition sections occupying a total area of 85,000 m²:
The largest area (60,000 m² in Halls 1 and 3) will cover all stages involved in the production and marketing of wines and spirits, from harvesting and cellar equipment to packaging.
A 12,000 m² area (in Hall 2) dedicated to fruit & vegetable equipment, will showcase sector-specific products and services, from planting equipment to marketing tools.
A third area covering 13,000 m² will bring together vineyard, orchard and vegetable farming machinery, including handling, soil-working, tying, maintenance, spraying and crop protection equipment, tractors and services.

Highlighting Innovation
Over 3 days, equipment manufacturers from some 20 countries will showcase and in some cases unveil their latest sector-specific products and solutions. The spotlight will be firmly on innovation with specific areas, including the celebrated Awards which single out the most noteworthy products. The panel, made up of industry specialists, will announce the winners on 8 September 2010, in three categories: “Vineyards, Orchards and Vegetable Farming”, “Wine” and “Fruit & Vegetables”. This year visitors will be able to vote online for their favourite innovation, at www.vinitech-sifel.com (after the results have been announced). Finally, there is the Oenovation Award which recognises the initiatives of young entrepreneurs in the wine industry.
